"Manager Lou Piniella says if the Devil Rays keep losing, they will have to try some different players."
link Hmmmmm.... I have an idea. I'll give a hint: he's currently batting .321 with 12 RBI and only 1 error, and he can play any postion...
The DBulls swept their double header yesterday! In the first game, Gipson played in left field and went 1/3, with a double and an RBI as the bulls won 4-1 over Richmond. In the second game, Charles played center field and went 0/3. His average is now .250
I am so sorry about the lack of updating! I'm doing the best I can right now, but there's alot going on.
Anyways, more importantly, Gippy. He is hitting .267 in 11 games, with 1 double, 1 triple, 5 runs, and 4 RBI. Not too shabby Charles....
And he's number 11!
Today's game was rained out, tommorrow they are scheduled for a double header against Richmond.
Well it's been a long and busy winter, but now we're back into baseball season, so I'm going to do my best to keep you updated with the latest on Gippy!
As you may or may not know, Charles is now a part of the Tampa Bay Devil Ray's organization, back in the mix with old coach Lou Piniella.
He opened the season playing for the Devil Rays in Tokyo, there's a cute article here.
He was outrighted to TB's AAA affiliate, the Durham Bulls this past week. He's batting .167 in the 2 games he's played so far. Yesterday was a double header with former team Columbus, and he went 0-4 with one run in the first game as the Bulls lost 5-6 in 10 innings, and went 1-2 in the second game, which the Bulls won, 9-6.
Next game is Monday night, against Columbus.
Ouch - Columbus ended their season last night with 4-21 loss to Louisville. Gipson played at third (!) and we 2-3 with a double and a run, which sadly just wasn't enough for the Clippers. Gippy closed out the season batting .275.
